The technique for making these wall hangings is as follows:
Use a layer of black fabric underneath the individual printed/colored fabric cutouts of the design. Those fabric pieces are fused onto the black, leaving a gap between them that forms a "leadline" or outline when the black fabric shows between them. Sandwich the top, batting, and backing and use a narrow zig zag stitch to secure the raw edges. This same stitching becomes the quilting for the project.
